FANCAP

Is the Food and Nutrition Foundation of Central America and Panama and was created with the purpose to contribute to the economic strengthening of the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (lNCAP), so that it can promote and encourage actions to combat the malnutrition, through investigation, training, education, adviser’s services, and participation in programs and projects to improve food, nutrition and health.
FANCAP was founded in 1975. Since its foundation until today the Foundation has been aiding projects in areas of health, nutrition and food and nutrition security.

MISSION

To contribute to the solution of health, food security and nutrition needs in Central America through the mobilization of resources and the implementation of programs and projects that provide effective solutions to the problems in the region.

VISSION

FANCAP will be recognized in Latin America for the scientific and technical quality of its work and the effective and transparent use of resources for the promotion of health, food security and nutrition in the region.

PRINCIPLES

Scientific and technical quality – FANCAP’s work is based on the proven competence of its team and partners in the appropriate use of scientific and technical tools to ensure that its solutions are based on evidence and international quality standards. FANCAP strives to implement continuous improvement in its interventions and scientifically address the needs in the region through adherence to international quality standards.

Transparency – The development of FANCAP’s activities is carried out through agreements, contracts, and agreements that incorporate measures to control the use of financial and technical resources and are subject to audits by the executing institutions, as well as donors.

Coordination – The management of projects led by FANCAP is carried out through close coordination with various counterparts.
Commitment – FANCAP ensures commitment with donors, implementers, local authorities, and beneficiaries to ensure effective achievement of objectives.

Ethics – FANCAP complies with project requirements according to the principles of confidentiality and honesty established by donors and national institutions. Likewise, FANCAP ensures that its work adheres to its own codes of ethics.

Leadership – FANCAP embraces the pillars of leadership, which include responsibility towards its members, collaborators, partners, and beneficiaries; quality, which it ensures in all its technical work and for society; organization, which is part of its daily work; and justice, which it practices in all its relationships with partners, collaborators, allies and beneficiaries.

Equality – FANCAP ensures and respects the equal rights and dignity of all people regardless of creed, race, gender, sexual orientation, and social class. Likewise, the organization guarantees equal treatment among individuals, partners, beneficiaries, and any stakeholder with whom working relationships are established.
